The drizzle let up
just before we took the stage. There were several thousand hearty
souls ready to party (over 21,600 tickets were distributed) so Danny
overcame his weakness from lack of food and played well (the boy
never could eat before a performance in a club, so we think
his last meal was sometime in August). The rest of the band
had a ball. The crowd seemed appreciative of both covers and originals.
Still, John in a long, blonde wig (to
sing Trick Pony's "Pour Me") might have been a little much for
some - Heidi he ain't. Please destroy any pictures you may have of this
unsavory sight.
It was
nice to hear the compliments from the number of people we did.
We hope we gained new fans who will make a point of coming to see us
play. And who
can complain about being asked for autographs and pictures --
especially considering some of the things we were asked to sign
(thank you, Jodi). Gotta love country music fans.
We were followed
on stage (in order) by Shannon Lawson, Carolyn Dawn Johnson,
Keith Urban, and Montgomery Gentry. It was a treat to
meet the artists and catch the backstage action (nice food
tent).
Playing before a
crowd of 10 - 20,000 people was an exciting moment and they
had to drag us kicking and screaming from the stage.
We could get used to that. And let's not forget the
roadies!! How nice was it to NOT have to carry our own
equipment and hook up all the cables, etc.?? I can
tell you right now it was GREAT!! This was a look at
the big-time that not every band gets to live and we ate it
up. We hope we get the chance to experience it again.

We'd
like to thank B-100 for inviting us to play at the 2002 concert. We hope
we were an asset to the event and that we're invited to play again.
